About Faces Entertainment's December 2013 Newsletter

A Message From Benny
"Let me start by saying that I like apples. I'm the office dog at About Faces. Holiday parties are coming and About Faces is the perfect company to make your guests smile at your next event. If you work in our office, and there's an apple in your lunch when you bring it in, you'd better hide it. Because I will take it when you're not looking. Guests smile when our caricature artists draw their pictures. They smile when our magicians make their magic. I smile when I steal your apples and eat them. Call 1-800-923-8669 or email us to book entertainment from us for your holiday party."

Benny didn't know it when he wrote this, but today, December 1st, is actually Eat a Red Apple Day! When I told him, he decided to celebrate this holiday every day. Let's just say...the office agents have developed better hiding places for their apples.

About Faces Entertainment
Email us (at newsletter@aboutfacesentertainment.com) a photo of your favorite holiday food, present, outfit, or activity. Is it Granny's granny smith apple pie? A wonderfully ugly sweater? Sledding into a tree? Our favorite will be chosen as the winner, and the photo will be shown in the next newsletter...because everybody wants their photo to be featured in the next newsletter! You're family's pretty interesting, right?

December's Featured Entertainer is... Laura S!
Describe the type of entertainment you provide.
"I draw quick cartoon portraits of people, capturing some aspect of that person in the moment, like funky boots or bright red lipstick."
When and how did you get into this business?
"I drew caricatures of the debate team at my high school in Texas. However, my first paying gig was during art school in St. Louis.  When I came to the DC area after school, I answered an ad in the newspaper to draw caricatures at a mall full-time for a summer."
What's the most memorable event you've ever worked at?
"I drew Julian Bond at a private party in a backyard. I've also drawn at Redskin players' mansions and events where Earth, Wind and Fire is the entertainment!"
What's one thing you'd like everyone to know about you?
"It's all about the times when I know I've captured the person's essence in a caricature and the moment I show the drawing to the person...They see it too. That moment is what keeps me in this business and keeps me striving to improve."
