Zippo the Clown - Rhode Island Clowns

Zippo the Clown

Zippo the Clown knew his destiny by the age of five. It was at that time in his life that he attended the Ringling Brother’s Circus, with his father, in Madison Square Garden, New York. During the performance he turned to his dad and said, “I want to be a clown.”

By the time Zippo was 18 years old he started working at Club Med in the Caribbean and Mexico spending one year in their mini club. During this time he worked with children ages 3 to 15 creating stage shows to entertain the rest of the guests. After that he joined the circus department of Club Med training and teaching children trampoline, trapeze, and clown stunts/gags. He also worked as an “animator,” a roving entertainer dressing in 3 to 5 different characters a day.

After his years of training with Club Med he went onto Clyde Beatty Cole Brothers Circus. He toured with them for one year and then went onto the American Crown Circus. He spent two tours with them working as a clown for the first tour and then an advanced clown on the second. Zippo has also made appearances on The Drew Carey Show, the film Good Burger, Fear and Loathing Las Vegas, and Universal Studios Hollywood. Nowadays Zippo finds himself making appearances at birthday parties, fundraising events, restaurant openings, and carnivals.
